Job Duties
1. Perform a full lifecycle product development (design, develop, test prototypes, manufacture and implement)
2. Design systems and components that meet needs and requirements
3. Produce outline designs
4. Conduct experiments methodically, analyse data and interpret results
5. Test and evaluate theoretical designs
6. Identify, formulate and produce effective solutions to emerging problems
7. Evaluate final product’s overall performance, reliability and safety
8. Alter and modify design to meet requirements and to eliminate malfunctions
9. Estimate budget and scope of project
10. Solicit observations from operators
11. Prepare product reports and documentation
12. Engage in lifelong learning and develop new theories or methods
13. Designs mechanical and electromechanical products and systems by developing and testing specifications and methods.
14. Evaluates mechanical and electromechanical systems and products by designing and conducting research programs and applying principles of mechanics, thermodynamics, hydraulics, heat transfer, and materials.
15. Confirms system and product capabilities by designing feasibility and testing methods and properties.
16. Develops mechanical and electromechanical products by studying customer requirements; researching and testing manufacturing and assembly methods and materials; and soliciting observations from operators.
17. Develops manufacturing processes by designing and modifying equipment for fabricating, building, assembling, and installing components.
18. Assures system and product quality by designing testing methods; testing finished-product and system capabilities; and confirming fabrication, assembly, and installation processes.
19. Prepares product reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
20. Provides engineering information by answering questions and requests.
21. Maintains product and company reputation by complying with government regulations.
22. Keeps equipment operational by coordinating maintenance and repair services; following manufacturer’s instructions and established procedures; and requesting special services.
23. Maintains system and product data base by writing computer programs and entering data.
24. Completes projects by training and guiding technicians.
25. Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, participating in professional societies.
26. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
