Job Duties

1.      Assist the Project Mine Manager to implement the business plan and strategy.

2.      Managing all production activities and relevant projects.

3.      Ensure compliance with the relevant safety, health, and environmental policies and procedures.

4.      People management, including coach and mentoring of middle management and supervisory level.

5.       Creating a motivated and unified performance-driven team

6.      Oversee the mine design team to ensure the projected production requirements can be met as well as optimal efficiency in ore production in a safe and productive manner.

7.      Assisting the Mine Manager with ore reserve statements

8.      Assisting the Mine Manager with various studies outside of the project scope as requested from time to time

9.      Mitigating safety, health, and environmental risks

10.  Overseeing mining development and implementation

11.  General reporting and advising the relevant Project Heads on strategic issues or risks

12.  co-ordinates the activities of mines, quarries, drilling operations, and offshore installations;

13.  determines staffing, material and other needs;

14.  co-ordinates and supervises coal-face production activities and ensures compliance with health and safety regulations;

15.  ensures that all haulage, storage, purification, and distribution work is performed efficiently and in compliance with statutory and other regulations;

16.  arranges for the provision of gas, water, and electricity supplies;

17.  ensures compliance with issues relating to the environmental impact of operations.
